Okeiko (お稽古) is a Japanese word that means practicing or taking lessons to improve a skill.

The important idea behind okeiko is not just learning, but practicing regularly with care and dedication.

It often includes guidance from a teacher and focuses on improving step by step over time.

For both Nihon Buyo and Nagauta, at okeiko one learns in addition to the above, history, discipline, timing, culture, manners and ethics.

One-on-one lessons are held in Tokyo & Chiba, Japan as well as Honolulu, Hawaii. 

Days and times for okeiko will be worked out with the student directly.

The length of each okeiko varies, however usually falls in between 30 minutes to one hour.
